Research Associate - Peptide Chemistry

Amide Technologies is a Cambridge-based biotech company focused on synthesizing peptides that are difficult to obtain through existing means, bridging the gap between traditional solid phase peptide synthesis and biological expression. Research Associate

Amide is seeking an exceptional individual to join our growing team as a Research Associate/Technician. The successful candidate will be a key contributor to various research projects and be responsible for executing laboratory experiments, analyzing and reporting results, and working within a larger team on a regular basis. Applicants should be team players able to excel in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Use proprietary flow chemistry synthesis technology to synthesize next-gen peptides and proteins

• Use LCMS, Flash, HPLC and FPLC instrumentation to purify/analyze peptides and proteins

• Troubleshoot challenging technical, experimental, and instrumental issues

• Meticulously record and analyze data

• Prepare and maintain laboratory reagents and instruments

• Regularly discuss progress of work

Requirements

• BS or MS degree or equivalent experience in chemistry, chemical engineering, biochemistry, or related field

• May have experience in organic synthesis including solid-phase peptide synthesis

• May have experience in LC-MS, mass spectrometry, HPLC, FPLC, UV-VIS, NMR, FT-IR or related techniques

• May have experience in recombinant protein expression and purification

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Enthusiasm, independence, and a willingness to learn in a fast-paced, team environment

• Committed to working collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team

The position is full time and the Research Associate will be based at the company’s headquarters in Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA. Flexibility with regard to working hours is required. The Research Associate will report to the Senior Scientist - Peptide Chemistry.
