Amide Technologies is a Massachusetts-based biotech company focused on synthesizing peptides that are difficult to obtain through existing means, bridging the gap between traditional solid phase peptide synthesis and biological expression. Research Associate
Amide is seeking an exceptional individual to join our growing team as a Research Associate. The successful candidate will be a key contributor to fulfilling customer orders by performing HPLC purification of AFPS-synthesized polyamides. Applicants should be team players able to excel in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
Operate RP-HPLC and LCMS instrumentation to purify/ analyze peptides and proteins (1-15 kDa, with a variety of chemical modifications such as fatty acid chains, biotinylation, fluorophores, disulfides, small molecule conjugates etc.)
Troubleshoot challenging technical, experimental, and instrumental issues
Meticulously record, analyze, and organize data
Prepare and maintain laboratory reagents and instruments
Regularly discuss progress of work
Requirements
BS (with industry experience), MS degree or equivalent experience in chemistry, biochemistry, or related field
Experience purifying synthetic peptides, proteins and/ or small molecules with HPLC
Ability to execute established protocols with accuracy and precision, while maintaining a proactive mindset towards process improvement
May have experience in LC-MS, UV-VIS, peptide synthesis
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Enthusiasm, independence, and a willingness to learn in a fast-paced, team environment
Committed to working collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team
The position is full time and the Research Associate will be based at the company’s headquarters in Waltham, Massachusetts, USA. Flexibility with regard to working hours is required.
