Position Overview
Axoft developed the most advanced high-performance soft materials for hardware-biology interfaces. Our Materials platform continues to expand to new applications, and the team continuously develops new polymers through custom synthesis to meet demanding mechanical, processing, and biostability requirements. We are looking for individuals who deliver results, solve hard problems with clarity, and bring strong technical and interpersonal competence.
As a Materials Engineer at Axoft, you will play a crucial role within the Material team, actively participating in the characterization of innovative polymers for different applications.
Your responsibilities:
Run various polymer materials characterizations, ranging from mechanical and physical properties, chemical characterizations, and collaborate with third party for outsourced testing.
Document all experiments, observations, and results with clarity and traceability.
Collaborate with the team to ensure alignment of test methods, materials, and design criteria.
Handle multiple concurrent tasks while meeting deadlines and quality standards.
Maintain calibration status of all characterization equipment and ensure compliance with internal SOPs and applicable external standards.
Key qualifications:
Masters in Materials Science or a closely related discipline with 2+ years of industry experience in relevant settings.
Demonstrable hands-on laboratory skills in materials characterization with the ability to independently design, execute, and document experiments.
Good understanding of chemical and mechanical characterization of polymers and monomers, such as NMR, TGA, tensile testing.
Microfabrication cleanroom experience.
Ability to analyze experiments and communicate conclusions with clarity.
Demonstrates versatility in a highly dynamic environment where project grow and evolve constantly.
Preferred qualifications:
Experience in MEMS, Microfluidics and Medical devices fabrication.
Familiar with FTIR, GPC, DSC, rheometry.
Solid understanding of material failure modes relevant to coatings, thin films, and microfluidic interfaces.
Experience with quality assurance related to GMP, ISO-9001 and ISO-13485 manufacturing principles.
