Your Team, Your Impact
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented FAE Intern to join our technical team in Suzhou or Shanghai. This role offers hands-on experience working with cutting-edge PAM4 DSP, Coherent DSP and Coherent optical technologies. In addition to optical and high-speed hardware exposure, this role emphasizes software/firmware support for customer firmware development and test. As an intern, you will collaborate closely with senior FAEs and the U.S. application team to support customer engagements, debug hardware/software systems, and help optimize optical module performanceWhat You Can Expect
Work with senior FAEs in helping customer Module firmware/software development
Help build equipment control script for lab automation test
Support lab activities to tune and optimize customer modules for improved performance under the guidance of experienced engineers
Participate in product bring-up and evaluation, including initial software setup, TX/RX performance testing, and reproducing/reporting issues
Contribute to the creation and maintenance of technical documentation, FAQs, and internal training materials
Join onsite or remote customer support sessions to assist in debugging and issue resolution
Learn and apply internal software tools for development, analysis, and debugging
Assist with customer firmware development: image flashing, configuration, register access, and status/log collection over I²C/ MDIO.
Support module control/management features and compliance checks (e.g., CMIS 5.x, 8636).

What We're Looking For
Qualifications:
Currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Software, Computer Science Electronics/electrical/control Engineering, or a related field
Experience and programming: Comfortable with C and Python; able to write small utilities and read/modify embedded code.
Strong willingness to learn, effective communication skills, and a collaborative mindset
Able to commit at least 4-6 months or more
Experience with DCA, BERT, or other test equipment is a strong advantage
Knowledge of signal and power integrity is a plus
Experience with simulation tools such as ADS or HFSS is desirable
