Your Team, Your Impact
The Cloud Optics organization develops optical connectivity solutions that help enable the performance, scale, and efficiency required in modern cloud and AI data centers. The group’s portfolio supports high-bandwidth optical interconnects used inside data centers, across campus environments, and between data center locations, with technologies spanning optical DSPs, coherent-lite DSPs, Co-Packaged Optical engines, and DCI optical modules. These products are designed to address the growing need for higher throughput, lower power, longer reach, and improved operational efficiency as cloud and AI infrastructure continues to scale. As part of this team, you will help support product execution across a portfolio of optical solutions for data centers by translating supply, material, and readiness data into actionable insights. This role will work closely with program management, engineering, product, planning, and operations teams to monitor material availability, analyze inventory positions, identify supply and operational risks, and improve launch readiness for complex optical products. The ideal candidate is comfortable operating in a fast-moving, cross-functional environment and brings strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to drive clarity across schedules, materials, and operational priorities.
What You Can Expect
NPI Material & Pipeline Management
- Track engineering inventory from mfg to team disposition and internal allocation and movement/re-allocation.
- Early development IC component tracking/buying for early-stage testing and product development
- Develop scenarios/demand planning for different production volumes and coordinating with Supply team for order placement and tracking
- Track and communicate material delivery schedules, ensuring teams are aware of dates, delays, and dependencies to other builds, programs, or milestones.
- Manage sample allocation to internal validation engineering teams and strategic alpha customers.
- Coordinate material handoffs between R&D, product engineering, and mass production teams.
Agile Operations & Program Launch
- Map NPI milestones directly into Jira user stories and epics to track launch readiness.
- Update internal launch tools with real-time status updates on first-silicon and qualification hardware.
- Lead retrospective sessions post-launch to optimize the time-to-market cycle for future chip spin-offs.
Analytics, Data & Readiness Tracking
- Monitor pre-production yields to flag supply risks before full production ramp-up.
- Reconcile engineering WIP data between external partner reports and internal tracking software.
- Model ramp-up inventory requirements to smoothly transition ownership to the mass-production team.
- Forecast NPI material costs and track variances against the program's development budget.
What We're Looking For
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, or Data Analytics.
- 3–5 years of analyst experience, with a heavy focus on NPI or product launch phases.
- Inventory planning/tracking understanding how to track physical inventory and modeling / scenario development for future build needs
- Fabless semiconductor experience understanding external foundry and assembly validation cycles and dependencies.
- Strong understanding of silicon lifecycles (tape-out, first silicon, qualification, mass production).
Technical Skills
- Agile collaboration software including Jira, Confluence, or similar issue-tracking tools.
- Data analysis applications including advanced Excel (modeling), SQL, and Tableau or PowerBI.
- Product Data Management (PDM) or PLM software used to track BOMs and part numbers.
Soft Skills
- High-velocity problem solving to navigate changing tape-out schedules and test failures.
- Cross-functional diplomacy to balance the competing timelines of R&D, sales, and operations.
- Meticulous attention to detail to ensure early-stage silicon is accurately tracked and labeled.
Expected Base Pay Range (USD)
