About the Role

We are looking for an Automation Engineer I to contribute to the support & implementation of robust solutions that integrate scientific instrumentation, robotic automation, and laboratory data management across Cellino’s portfolio. In this role you will report to the automation lead and work within the automation team to build and support automated robotic systems for high throughput to increase the efficiency and reproducibility of our platform. The ability to work in a highly collaborative environment, adapt to changing needs, and an agile team first mind-set will be critical to success.

Responsibilities

  • Working with senior engineers, support the creation of new lab automation by defining requirements and understanding business needs
  • Support day to day operations for both, current and future, automated platforms
  • Contribute to the development of scripting (C#, Python) for automation software solutions
  • Proactively identify risks and proposing solutions to the automation team for ongoing maintenance and improvements
  • Work with Lab Operations to plan for site and space needs, installation of automation hardware, and tracking of automation supplies
  • Provide end user training, documentation, and support for various automation systems, and ELN & LIMS as it relates to end-to-end automation workflows
  • Collaborate with other teams as needed

Qualifications

BS in related engineering discipline, ideally related to robotics, software engineering, biotech, etc. Experience with pharma/biotech lab automation experience a plus

Required Skills

  • Experience with Python, C# (or similar)
  • Experience with automated liquid handlers, scheduling software, and lab equipment a plus
  • Experience viewing and interpreting technical information, and writing technical documentation
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences at all levels within the organization
  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and organizational skills
  • Integration of lab automation workflows with LIMS a plus
