Cemcycle's first-of-a-kind carbon capture technology mineralizes carbon contained in common organic wastes such as food waste, yard waste, or sewage sludge through energy-positive reactions. The mineral produced, Precipitated Calcium Carbonate (PCC), is a carbon-negative commodity that can be sequestered in concrete to lower its carbon footprint. Considering the 2 billion tons of organic waste generated every year and its impact on 4% of global greenhouse gas emissions, this technology has significant potential to reduce carbon emissions.
