About Dig Energy, Inc.
Dig Energy is an early stage energy startup working to create affordable geothermal energy at a global scale. We have developed a new radically inexpensive drilling method that enables us to create geothermal boreholes anywhere in the world. Our initial focus is on residential and commercial heating/cooling. We’ve raised funding from top investors and are now looking to move from initial prototypes to a commercial drilling system.
Due to the hands-on nature of our work, this is an on-site role, and we’re looking for someone who can come into our office in Manchester, NH (which is commuting distance from Boston). If you’re not in the area but might be open to relocation, we’d love to have a call and tell you why it’s such a great place to live.
The Role
We are looking for multi-disciplinary and experienced engineers that can own and execute on core engineering challenges while building processes for quality and scale. The Mechanical Engineer will drive pieces of mechanical design, electro-mechanical packaging, manufacturing, HVAC integration, and civil engineering. We are looking for a multi-faceted “shortstop-style” engineer who is smart, learns quickly, and thinks creatively to deliver novel solutions. This role will be heavily hands-on engineering and execution focused.

Detailed design and validation of key components and sub-modules
Component and system level analysis
Perform systems/material testing to help refine designs
DFM work with the team to establish robust fabrication and assembly procedures
Design system components, including detailed drawings for manufacturing using best practices and GD&T
Design integration systems to enable our system to seamlessly mesh with HVAC systems
System level lab and field testing
Who You Are

Thorough understanding and use of technical principles, theories, and concepts in mechanical and mechanical systems engineering
High attention to detail and excellent organizational and communication skills
Fluent using CAD systems such as (Fusion 360, SolidWorks or Creo)
Experience in engineering analysis such as FEA, CFD, FMEA or PFMEA is a plus
Working knowledge of manufacturing techniques such as injection molding, sheet metal fabrication, welding, machining and 3D printing
Familiarity with moving products from R&D through Design and into Manufacturing
Comfortable creating engineering documentation including 2D part drawings, assemblies and schematics
BS in Mechanical Engineering, mechatronics, or related field
Perks
We offer a fully paid, excellent healthcare plan and flexible vacation policy.
You’d work on wildly interesting technical problems and will have responsibility and support to help you grow.
