HyperLight is at the forefront of the commercialization of thin-film lithium niobate (TFLN) integrated photonics - a material and process technology that is enabling high-performance, scalable optical components across AI/datacom infrastructure, hyperscale computing, quantum computing, sensing, and beyond. Founded in 2018 and backed by leading venture capital, we’ve built a team and a platform focused on real-world mass deployment of TFLN photonics technology.

At the core of our work is the TFLN Chiplet™ platform — a modular, integrated architecture designed for scalability, manufacturability, and seamless integration into complex systems. It offers a rare combination of extraordinary performance and industrial readiness, enabling system developers across applications to deploy the technology fast and ready. We partner with our customers and suppliers from conceptualization, design, and prototyping phases, all the way through mass production to ensure smooth and rapid deployment of TFLN photonic technology.

We believe our platform is the key, in the golden age of integrated photonics, to empower humanity to the next level. We assembled a world class team covering engineering, business and operations. We believe in the power of integrity, innovation, collaboration and pragmatic solutions. Our diverse team thrives on challenges and is united by a shared commitment to excellence. We take pride in tackling complex challenges with curiosity, humility, and a deep sense of care for one another.

HyperLight is seeking an experienced Senior Production Planner to lead and optimize our delivery operations for Photonic Integrated Circuit (PIC) products. This leadership role is responsible for designing and implementing scalable, high-efficiency planning processes to support the company’s rapid growth in the photonics space. The ideal candidate will have deep experience in semiconductor or photonic device manufacturing and a track record of setting up production planning systems from the ground up.

Join us to make a real-world impact in a fast-paced, collaborative and high-growth environment!

Responsibilities:

  • Lead end-to-end production planning for Photonic IC products, covering wafer fabrication, assembly, testing, and packaging.
  • Design and implement robust planning processes and tools tailored to PIC production flow, including small-lot, high-mix environments.
  • Own the Master Production Schedule (MPS) and align production output with sales forecasts, customer demand, and inventory targets.
  • Partner closely with internal stakeholders including R&D, NPI, procurement, manufacturing partners, and quality to ensure timely product delivery.
  • Develop and monitor KPIs for planning accuracy, cycle time, yield impact, and capacity utilization.
  • Establish scalable SOPs for planning, and integrate ERP or MES systems to streamline operations.
  • Support transfer of new products from development to volume production, including pilot-line coordination.
  • Manage contract manufacturing planning for external fabs or packaging/test houses as applicable.
  • Lead or mentor junior planners as the organization grows.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of production planning experience, including 3+ years in a leadership role within semiconductor or photonics manufacturing.
  • Proven experience setting up and optimizing planning processes for Photonic ICs, silicon photonics, or advanced optoelectronics.
  • Strong familiarity with wafer-level and back-end photonic processes (e.g., dicing, electro-optic packaging, optical testing).
  • Familiarity with optical components manufacturing and delivery
  • Hands-on experience with ERP and production planning systems (e.g., SAP, NetSuite, Oracle, or similar).
  • Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills with a track record of delivering results in a fast-paced, high-tech environment.
  • Comfortable managing ambiguity and scaling processes during periods of rapid growth.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management capabilities.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with fabless photonic device production models.
  • Prior work with contract manufacturers and OSATs (outsourced semiconductor assembly and test).
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement frameworks.
  • APICS, CPIM, or CSCP certification a plus.
  • Competitive market-based compensation
