Responsibilities:

Work both independently and as part of a team to design, execute and optimize genomic insertion workflows in primary human cells and cell lines using Kano’s proprietary circular ssDNA donor technology
Detect gene editing outcomes using a variety of methods including flow cytometry, digital PCR, NGS and others as appropriate
Characterize edited cells using immunological assays, multi-parameter flow cytometry, cytokine detection, cellular differentiation and immuno-oncology readouts
Conduct literature and intellectual property reviews and aid in the ideation of potential projects
Write protocols, prepare data presentations for company-wide meetings, maintain a highly organized and detailed electronic laboratory notebook (ELN) and stay up to date with scientific literature
Handle multiple projects effectively, prioritizing tasks, collaborate across teams with ease

Qualifications:

4+ years of professional research experience or PhD in Immunology, Biology, Cell Biology or related fields
Demonstrated experience with CRISPR-based genome editing and genetic engineering, (KO, HDR), transfections, viral transduction (lentivirus and AAV)
Significant experience in ex vivo analysis of multiple immune cell populations and cell-based assays using primary cells
Expertise in multiparameter flow cytometry, from panel design to data acquisition and analysis
Experience with a variety of molecular and cell biology techniques such as DNA/RNA/protein extraction, sequencing, PCR, ddPCR, ELISA, and MSD
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, navigates easily working with researchers from all levels of training
Fluency in spoken and written English is required
