Position Summary
Matrisome Bio is seeking a highly motivated Head of Corporate & Business Development to support and drive the growth of our early-stage biotechnology company. In this full-time role, you will balance responsibilities across strategy, operations, planning, corporate and business development. The ideal candidate will have a passion for biotech innovation, be comfortable with broad and evolving responsibilities, and thrive in a dynamic startup environment. You will work closely with the CEO and leadership team to help shape the strategic direction of the company and support business development initiatives. This is an on-site position based in Cambridge, MA.
Key Responsibilities:

Corporate Development & Strategic Planning:
Collaborate with the CEO and leadership team to refine the company’s strategy and long-term growth plan, ensuring alignment with emerging market opportunities and internal capabilities.
Represent the company in discussions with potential external partners, including pharma/biotech companies, investors, and collaborators.
Perform market analysis and competitive landscape assessments to guide pipeline strategy and business development efforts.
Support the CEO in preparing materials for fundraising efforts, including pitch decks and financial projections.

Provide operational and strategic support throughout the fundraising process, ensuring alignment with company objectives.

Business Development & Operations:
Lead strategic partnering initiatives, including identifying, evaluating, and negotiating partnerships, licensing agreements, and collaborations with different stakeholders to expand Matrisome Bio's pipeline.
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure alignment between corporate strategy and operational goals, including tracking and reporting on key performance indicators (KPIs).
Adapt to the evolving needs of an early-stage company, stepping in where needed and taking ownership of new initiatives to support the company’s growth.
The Ideal Candidate:

Education:
MBA combined with an undergrad degree in life sciences or advanced degree (MS or PhD) in life sciences, bioengineering, or related discipline.

Experience:
6+ years of experience in biotechnology/pharma strategy, business development/operations, life science consulting or venture capital.
Experience in oncology is a plus but not required.
Proven track record of leading and closing strategic transactions, including partnerships, licensing, and M&A deals.
Experience representing a company in high-stakes external meetings with partners, investors, or collaborators.
