Pascal is seeking an experienced Business Operations Manager to support the internal operations of the company as it grows. This role will work directly with the CEO and the rest of the executive team to streamline Pascal’s business operations, build robust scalable processes, and position the company well for future growth.

Pascal has translated its core solid refrigerant technology into a commercial-scale refrigerator prototype and is currently working with a large multi-national beverage company on a beverage cooler prototype based on Pascal’s solid refrigerant technology. During this next phase the company expects to grow to ~15 FTEs and significantly expand the scope of its public and commercial engagements. To maintain its rapid development pace and achieve its goals the company needs to significantly improve its internal operations and enable senior management to operate with a broader scope.

We are looking for an experienced generalist who is comfortable taking on both day-to-day operational tasks (e.g. tracking expenses, managing travel and schedules, grant management) as well as taking ownership of important initiatives such as drafting company policies, selecting key service providers, and managing marketing and public relations campaigns as well as whatever else needs doing. A key aspect of this role will be to translate prior operating experiences and lessons learned to Pascal’s context and build the foundation of smooth, efficient operations as the company continues to scale. This is an early-stage role at a growing, well-capitalized startup working to improve technology that is critical infrastructure to every person on the planet. We make a point to foster talent internally and expect that many of our early employees will step into larger leadership positions as the company grows.

A viable candidate should have 3+ years of experience in an administrative or business operating role, with prior startup experience strongly desired. Experience with supporting executive level roles, finance, grants, marketing, or human resources is a plus.

What You’ll Do

    • Design of company policies and draft documents

    • Building company templates

    • Website migration and overhaul

    • Company brand update

    • Design and manage marketing campaigns and press tours

    • Selection of core company service providers (accounting, legal, recruiting etc.)

    • Development of important fundraising documents to support Pascal’s next fundraise

  • Weekly management of:

    • Invoices, bills, and accounts payable

    • Executive schedules and travel

    • Legal and HR compliance

    • Grant management

    • Communications (e.g. investor updates, press releases, deck preparation, emails with stakeholders)

    • Oversight of Pascal’s core service providers

    • Pascal’s office and R&D facilities

  • Work with the executive team to streamline operations and build robust, scalable company processes

  • Ad hoc problem solving

What You'll Bring

  • Strong organizational mindset with a bias towards developing process-based solutions

  • Clear communication skills with ability to communicate with the correct tone and style to board members, entry-level employees, the general public and everything in between

  • Prior startup experience in an operations, chief of staff, or similar role and an ability to apply lessons-learned from prior companies

  • Energetic, problem-solving attitude willing to take on both large projects and small trivial tasks

  • Sufficient technical understanding of hardware engineering, physics, chemistry etc. to succeed in a deep-tech startup environment

Nice to Have

  • Experience with accounting, financial systems

  • Human resources experience

  • Experience with investor relations

  • Experience directly supporting a CEO or other executives
