Description

As a Research Associate at Seia Bio, you will play an important role in our R&D team in helping grow our research capabilities and by extension our company. You’ll be a key contributor to the team helping to further advance the technology in Product and Process development of microbial products with the potential to grow into additional responsibilities. This role is an on-site role, primarily in the lab to support lab operations, laboratory experiments, product development and process development with additional responsibilities as necessary. Comfort with biology, chemistry, and process engineering and a willingness to work hands-on in the lab are essential.

In this role you will:

  • Collaborate with teammates to support R&D initiatives by running experiments, collecting, analyzing, and reporting data.
  • Lead lab operations to ensure equipment, supplies and materials enable our company success
  • Drive hands-on experimentation and research, using your technical expertise to address complex challenges and uncover new avenues for growth in line with strategy.
  • Implement and refine new assays, methods, and protocols to enable innovation.

Requirements

Required: BS or MS in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, or related field with experience working with microbial cell cultures, sterile technique, and chemistry knowledge.

Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs and perform repetitive tasks such as pipetting, glasswashing, and media prep.

Problem-Solving Skills: Skilled at analyzing technical issues, identifying root causes, and developing practical solutions to support the team’s objectives.

Flexibility and Adaptability: Excels in a dynamic work environment, seamlessly transitioning between laboratory tasks, data analysis, equipment maintenance, and collaborative projects as needed.

Technical Excellence: Proven ability in executing research protocols, conducting experiments, and maintaining laboratory equipment, with a track record of delivering reliable and accurate results.

Strong Interpersonal Aptitude: Excellent interpersonal skills aimed at fostering a collaborative and respectful work environment, ensuring effective communication and teamwork within the lab and with others

Excellent Written and Verbal Communication: Proficient in documenting experimental procedures, results, and technical reports, as well as presenting findings clearly and effectively to team members and supervisors.

Scientific Proficiency:Hands-on experience in laboratory settings, with a strong foundation in biological, chemical, and engineering principles relevant to the role.
