We are seeking a creative and motivated Lab Associate to assist in overseeing day-to-day lab operations and serve as the daily contact for lab requests at our new facility. The Lab Ops Associate will have the primary responsibility for ensuring the labs, equipment, and building systems are running in an operative, clean, and efficient manner. Working closely with the Lab Operations Management Team, additional responsibilities will focus on building a wider platform for resident space planning, lab operations assistance, and overall infrastructure to better serve the people and companies at The Engine.

Areas of Responsibility

  • Provide day-to-day laboratory operations support (resident company support, laboratory housekeeping, communications, and systems management)
  • Serve as primary contact for laboratory operations in shared laboratory spaces
  • Maintain and improve upon laboratory chemical inventory platform by working with resident company Chemical Hygiene Officers and Engine EHS
  • Assist with equipment maintenance scheduling and upkeep of Laboratory Equipment Asset Management System
  • Maintain laboratory facilities and general cleanliness
  • Other laboratory operational support, as needed

Job Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in life sciences, preferred Biology or Chemistry
  • 1-3 years of experience in a lab environment, or similar laboratory operations role
  • Project Management skills preferred
  • Clear written communication
  • Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs
