About the Role
As Via’s Financial Controller, you will be directly responsible for all accounting and corporate financial functions. You will be responsible for corporate financial strategy development. In this role, you will work closely with the executive leadership team (CEO, CTO, COO, Director of Strategic Finance) and will report on financial strategy and performance to the board. You will oversee the development of critical financial controls, policies and procedures. You will be responsible for critical company-building and organizational leadership activities to drive alignment, promote operational excellence, and scale the organization. This role is ideal for a self-starter, problem-solver, doer with a blend of strategy, execution, and people management experience.
You Will
● Engage directly with the CEO as their right-hand for corporate finance activities
● Lead all accounting and corporate financial functions including, monthly close, accounts payable, payroll, budgeting, financial planning, and reporting
● Develop policies and procedures to improve the accuracy and efficiency of close and reporting processes
● Create internal controls and financial policies and procedures
● Oversee the development of corporate finance strategy and communicate to senior leadership and board
● Support the budget and forecasting process
● Support other departments with financial analysis and reporting
● Oversee and lead the accounting team in all financial reporting activities
● Support and review monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements
● Coordinate tax prep with external tax accountants
● Oversee annual business audits
● Manage financial functions of international entities
The ideal candidate will have most, if not all, of these qualifications:
● 5-7 years of professional experience in corporate financial management. Previous experience in a venture-backed startup or audit firm is strongly preferred
● Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related field, or a CPA certification
● Knowledge of GAAP financial reporting requirements
● Demonstrated experience in people management and cross-functional team leadership
● Strong analytical skills with a strategic mindset and strong attention to detail
● Ability to execute effectively with limited guidance and in ambiguous situations
● Extremely versatile and agile
● Biased towards action
● U.S. Work Authorization is required for this role
