XGenomes is developing a radically new DNA sequencing technology that will revolutionize personalized healthcare. We watch single-molecule interactions at optical super-resolution, down to a few nanometers and use artificial intelligence to decode sequence and epigenetic states. We are looking for a data science intern with knowledge of biochemistry to join our team for a 6-month co-op in-person in Cambridge, MA, to work on simulations, data analysis and algorithms in conjunction with generating experimental data. We look forward to reading your application at this link! Responsibilities: Further development of super-resolution imaging data analysis pipeline; Conduct simulations and experiments to train machine learning models; Systematically analyze data to gain insights for optimizing the efficiency, reliability, and data quality of experiments; Work with our engineers to test and optimize assay scale-up. Essential Qualifications: Ability to design, develop, test, and document software or data analysis tools; Experience with bioinformatics, computational simulations, or analysis of large datasets, ideally in Julia, Python, or MATLAB; Foundation in biochemistry, including DNA/RNA molecular structure and interactions; Willingness to learn new skills, communicate across multi-disciplinary team, and document progress. Nice-to-haves: Experience designing and performing molecular biology or chemistry lab experiments; Familiarity with machine learning methods, including deep learning and image processing techniques; Ability to conduct in-depth literature reviews to identify technical solutions.
