XGenomes is developing a radically new DNA sequencing technology that will revolutionize personalized healthcare. We watch single-molecule interactions at optical super-resolution, down to a few nanometers and use artificial intelligence to decode sequence and epigenetic states. We are looking for a data science intern with knowledge of biochemistry to join our team for a 6-month co-op in-person in Cambridge, MA, to work on simulations, data analysis and algorithms in conjunction with generating experimental data. We look forward to reading your application at this link! What you'll do: Further development of super-resolution imaging data analysis pipeline. Conduct simulations and experiments to train machine learning models. Systematically analyze data to gain insights for optimizing the efficiency, reliability, and data quality of experiments. Work with our engineers to test and optimize assay scale-up. Required qualifications: Ability to design, develop, test, and document software or data analysis tools. Experience with bioinformatics, computational simulations, or analysis of large datasets, ideally in Julia, Python, or MATLAB. Foundation in biochemistry, including DNA/RNA molecular structure and interactions. Willingness to learn new skills, communicate across multi-disciplinary team, and document progress. Preferred / bonus experience: Experience designing and performing molecular biology or chemistry lab experiments. Familiarity with machine learning methods, including deep learning and image processing techniques. Ability to conduct in-depth literature reviews to identify technical solutions.
