Quantum Formatics is a materials discovery startup focused on creating next-generation superconductors for high-field applications, enabling scalable fusion energy and accessible MRI technology. Our proprietary AI-accelerated discovery algorithm has already demonstrated success in identifying novel superconducting materials. About the Role
We are seeking a Computational Scientist to join our growing R&D team. In this role, you will apply state-of-the-art AI methods and computational materials science techniques to accelerate the discovery of novel superconductors. You will contribute to both the development of our in-house AI models and the execution of high-throughput simulations, working closely with our world-class team of scientists and engineers. This is a high-impact position where your work directly influences the pace of discovery and the commercialization of transformative technologies.
About you
- Ph.D. in Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science, or a closely related field, with a strong focus on atomistic modeling or AI accelerated materials discovery.
- At least 3 years of research in AI for materials discovery.
- Understanding of materials modeling including DFT and molecular dynamics simulations.
- Familiarity with high-performance computing.
- Proficiency in Python.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills, capable of articulating complex technical ideas clearly and effectively.
Pluses
- Experience in optimizing HPC architectures.
- Experience in Fortran and/or C++.
- Understanding of BCS theory and the physics of electron-phonon superconductors.

Salary
$100,000 - $150,000 per year
